We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out to the open gym on April 18 to celebrate the new gymnastics air floor! We loved seeing the community come together to have fun, and hope that you all had a blast! This air floor will have such a big impact on gymnastics classes, giving tumblers more space to practice skills and serving as a safety measure to protect all the kids from the floor. Projects like this would not be possible without your support, and we want to say a special thank you to the Sitka White Elephant Shop and the Sitka Sound Slayers for their generous contributions. Sitka Recreation Foundation supports the quality of life in our community by facilitating financial and human investments in recreational opportunities.
The Vision
A thriving and sustainable community recreation program, developing a model that is affordable, accessible and equitable to all Sitka residents and our guests. Connecting our community in the outdoors and indoor environments to provide a vibrant, healthy, and enriching opportunity for youth and adults.
Financial Leverage
Adding value to capital improvement projects, program enhancements, accessibility (physical and financial) by seeking collaborative funding opportunities from grants and donations.
People Power
We have a variety of roles where you can get involved. Consider volunteering with us to enhance programs, step into leadership roles with the Sitka Recreation Foundation, help with hands on projects, increase community outreach, and fundraise.
Growing Recreational Activities
We work toward a community where all Sitkans can access healthy recreational activities, where our recreational facilities and programs are adequately and sustainably funded, allowing our community to grow and thrive into the future.
