Recreation Transit Van

The Sitka Recreation Foundation is proud to announce the successful completion of our initiative to reduce transportation barriers and enhance community-wide access to local programming. Through the partnership our with the City of Sitka, Parks and Recreation now has a dedicated E-Transit van. Transportation has long been identified as a significant barrier to participation, particularly for youth and seniors. Having this van will support equity in recreation by ensuring individuals of all ages can access community programs, including those offered in partnership with local organizations. Through generous donor support, grant funding, and the final funding contribution from the City of Sitka, Parks and Recreation can move forward in strengthening participation in recreational opportunities across Sitka.
